This story is not for the weak-stomached!\u00a0 There were quite a few descriptions of the horrifying, headless monsters known as the Anthropophagi and their eviscerated human prey.\u00a0\u00a0Despite the fact that some of those descriptions left me feeling queasy, I felt like I just HAD to keep going and find out how it ended.\u00a0Told via the journal of Will Henry, who was the 12-year-old assistant of monstrumologist Pellinore Warthrop, the book begins with the death of Will Henry, as an old man.\u00a0 The actual story behind things, though, begins in the late 1880s when a grave robber brought his gruesome discovery to Warthrop\u2019s home in the middle of the night.\u00a0 Will Henry, before his death, had insisted that he was over 100 years old and that he had worked for the monstrumologist, but the people who find his journal are sure that it is a work of fiction.\u00a0 After all, nothing so scary as an Anthropophagi can truly exist.\u00a0 Can it?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
