This was a book recommended to me by my brother.\u00a0\u00a0I should talk to him more often about what he’s reading!\u00a0 This book is so well written.\u00a0 It is\u00a0about James Garfield, our 20th President,\u00a0and you’ll feel as if you are right in the middle of this fascinating, and ultimately sad, story. \u00a0It will also make you ask the question — what would our nation have become with Garfield at the helm? \u00a0I can honestly say I didn’t really know much about him\u00a0other than\u00a0the fact that he had been assassinated.\u00a0\u00a0This book is chock full of information about this extremely smart, talented, accomplished Civil War hero.\u00a0\u00a0The description of how he suffered at the hands of his physicians is truly criminal —\u00a0if only they had\u00a0been aware that\u00a0using sterile technique along with simple hand washing\u00a0could have helped him live! He didn’t have to die.\u00a0 A book absolutely worth reading!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
