If you enjoyed Gone Girl<\/em>, this would probably appeal to you.\u00a0 It tells the story of a young LA socialite, Jane Jenkins,\u00a0whose life is filled with wealth, fashion and beauty, and\u00a0who at the age of 17 is convicted of her mother’s murder.\u00a0 Jane is a clever, sarcastic, witty young woman who is not sure if she’s guilty or not, and ends up spending ten years in prison but is released on a technicality.\u00a0\u00a0Having to dodge the press, she disguises her appearance and heads to the mid-West to find out the truth about her mother’s murder based on a overhead conversation shortly before her mother’s death.\u00a0 Here she learns more about her mother and discovers family secrets she never knew.\u00a0 Jane’s narration of the book is filled with her sarcastic nature, which adds that element of a “mean girl,” but it is told\u00a0in a way that\u00a0I ended up rooting for her success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
