So…having previously read The Year of Magical Thinking,\u00a0<\/em>I picked up this book. \u00a0First of all, it takes only about an hour to read this very small book.\u00a0 Secondly,\u00a0I don’t know what\u00a0I was thinking. \u00a0I’m a reader, so\u00a0I read almost all the time. \u00a0But why\u00a0I would choose to read a book about a mother writing about the loss of her only daughter, well…let’s just say it was ill advised. \u00a0In any event,\u00a0I also have to say\u00a0I guess I don’t like Didion’s style; she repeats phrases over and over, and it’s really annoying.\u00a0 And\u00a0I feel really sorry for her as well — she is definitely not at peace with much of anything — aging, being alone, etc. \u00a0I almost think she’s clinically depressed and would\u00a0 like to call her doctors in NYC to make sure they add an anti-depressant to her daily medications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
