This has got to be one of the funniest audiobooks I have ever listened to.\u00a0 Seriously!\u00a0 Adam Rex wrote a hilarious story and Bahni Turpin\u2019s narration was absolutely fantastic.\u00a0 It\u2019s no wonder this book received the Odyssey Award!\u00a0 My son and I listened to it together, and we loved it so much that we harassed my husband until he agreed to listen to it too.\u00a0 After we all finished listening, we started talking to each other like the Boov (alien) named J. Lo \u2014 and it\u2019s gone on long enough that even my 3-year-old has talks like a Boov!\u00a0 I\u2019m pretty sure it won\u2019t matter how many times I hear it; I will always laugh when I hear my son shout, \u201cSHOOT FORTH THE LASERS \u2026 FROM MY EYEBALLS!\u201d\u00a0 Priceless family bonding.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
You may be wondering, \u201cWhat\u2019s this story about?\u201d\u00a0 Well\u2026\u00a0 When an alien race [the Boov] took over Earth and claimed it as their own planet, they renamed Christmas as Smekday and forced all the humans in North America to relocate to Florida.\u00a0 Later, after the Boov were vanquished, students across the US were given the chance to explain the true meaning of Smekday in an essay.\u00a0 This story is Gratuity \u201cTip\u201d Tucci\u2019s story\/essay.<\/p>\n
